Best guess (between myself and Graham Garfield of Chicago 'L' dot org) is that this might be from an accident between a CA&E train and a CTA train at Racine in September 1948. The impact of that accident resulted in cars being pushed more than a block after impact, which would put the cars ending up alongside the shop at Throop. This appears to be Throop, and the dress of the passengers would seem to fit. More info is always appreciated
